Blog update: “Mexico! 5th day”
Maimi visits the Japanese ambassador the day after the Mexico concert in her October 3rd, 2015 update “Mexico! 5th day“. Full translation below.
The 5th day in Mexico
We put on our concert outfits in the morning,
and we were interviewed by countless reportersA newspaper called “The Japan News”, which is sold in Mexico,
also published a story about usLook
I’m happy~
I’m so, so grateful
And then, we changed into our casual clothes and went shopping
It was Sunday in Mexico
It had become a pedestrian’s paradise,as there were people cycling on the road,
people walking with their dogs,
people doing aerobics,
getting massages outside,
and doing something like karate on a mat,so it was bustling
Everyone was having an enjoyable Sunday, so the street had a wonderful atmosphereThere were also a lot of people who smiled when we made eye contact,
and they let me take pictures of the doggies they were walking…
Everyone was laidback
And the doggies were all breeds I don’t see in Japan
When I was in elementary schools, I loved doggies so much that I knew about 200 breeds of dogs,
but while downtown I saw a lot of doggies that made me think “I’ve never seen this!!( ゚д゚)”
Or maybe I knew them when I was younger?(^◇^;)
Did I just forget??;^_^A lol
But each time I passed by those doggies,
I got really excited like “Wow(≧∇≦) Look, look
That doggie is big(//∇//)”
There really are a lot of people raising large-breed dogs in Mexico City
In addition,
compared to the large-breed dogs like Labrador Retriever and Golden Retriever I usually see in Japan,it was overwhelming large dog breeds
I saw a Newfoundland,
which is a doggie that looks like a bearA friend that I often played with when I was in elementary school had 4 Newfoundlands,
and they made a really big impact on meThat was when my parents were still against us raising a doggie,
so I remember feeling really envious every time I’d go over to play with her
When didn’t have cell phones back then,
and we only met once after she changed schools,so I wonder if she’s doing well??(*^^*)
…I’ve reaaaaally digressed, haven’t I∑(゚Д゚)
Back on topic~…
Right,
we finally reached the shopping mall,
and I bought a looot of giftsEach and every thing made me think
“Ah! Chii (Tokunaga Chinami) would love this“,
but then I’d quip to myself
“Even though you just bought something for Chii,
you’re buying more…;^_^A”(´・ω・`)No matter what I looked at, Chii popped into my head…
Oh well( ̄▽ ̄)
lol
I still haven’t given them to her~( ̄∇ ̄)
That day, I sent Chii a message on LINE reading
“They had something cute like this, so I bought it(≧∇≦)”,but I wonder when the next time I’ll be able to meet her will be… ??( ̄▽ ̄)
Until then,
the gifts are guests at my house(・∀・)After enjoying shopping…
What
We went to the official residence of Ambassador Yamada, the Japanese ambassador to Mexico,
and ate dinnerIt goes without saying,
but it’s the first time I’ve been to an official residence,so I was excited and nervous
They said it was the first time idols have been to the official residence of a Japanese ambassador to Mexico
It seems like a place where you’d be really nervous,
but Ambassador Yamada is really kind,
and on top of that,Sakurai-san, who works to spread Japanese culture to the world and who we’ve worked with countless times, was there too,
so we were really relaxed during our meal at the official residence and talked about a variety of things, and it was fun
For the meal,
they prepared a banquet of Japanese food with an autumn feeling, which was of course elegant and delicious,
and they used autumn colors and Chinese silver grass for the arrangements,
so it looked beautiful tooAiri and Hagi-chan took a lot of pictures,
so I’m still waiting for them~(≧∇≦)
But, but
Just the dessert…
Ambassador Yamada is familiar with my sweets book “℃-ute Yajima Maimi no Yajimap Sweets Sugyou no Tabi”, which was published earlier,
so when he came to the concert in Mexico the day before,
he said “Yajima-san, you like sweets right? We’re preparing some new and delicious sweets for tomorrow’s dinner party!!”
I couldn’t contain my excitement after that
Here is the new sweet which I was interested in!!Kahlua panna cotta!
It was delicious
All of the members were really moved saying
“It’s delicious(T ^ T) It’s delicious(T ^ T)”It has a mellow flavor like coffee pudding, so I couldn’t get enough of it(≧▽≦)
I want to eat it again
In addition, we even had something like this
The lower-left is tequila jelly
Mexico is famous for its tequila,
so they made a sweet out of it tooI thought it might be harsh because of alcohol,
but the alcohol is removed from the dessert, so it was really easy to eat and delicious
All of the food made my stomach as happy as can be
Once again I felt like I had a valuable experience
It made me want to work harder so that lots of countries,
not limited to just Mexico,
will become interested in Japanese cultureThis update has become long,
so this is all for todayPlease be sure to read the next installment, “Mexico! 6th day”
Well then, later
