Blog update: “New Year’s Day was…♪( ´θ`)ノ”
Maimi enjoys a day off before the Hello! concerts kick off in her January 2nd update “New Year’s Day was…♪( ´θ`)ノ“. Full translation below.
Good morning
It’s MaimiHow was everyone’s New Year’s Day?(*^^*)
After the COUNTDOWN PARTY in Osaka was over,
we stayed in Osaka and went to Tenmangu shrine for our first shrine visit of the year♪( ´θ`)ノ
All the carts were lined up,
and it was crowded even though it was late-night,
so it really had the atmosphere of being New Year’s~I ate a variety of things with everyone,
like Sazae no tsuboyaki,
yakisoba, kara-age, etc…(((o(*゜▽゜*)o)))There was an Osakan specialty that’s not available in Tokyo,
and I think it was called tamago senbei??(・o・)
…It had a name like that, if I’m not mistaken, and it was reaaaally delicious( ´ ▽ ` )ノ
Everyone also got their fortunes
(^O^)
I got~…
“Good luck to come”( ゜д゜)
I properly tied it up(`・∀・´)ゞ
I took a bath after we got back to the hotel,
and then we left right after I got outWe made an early morning trip home
Even though I had planned to type my blog update during the trip, I fell fast asleep
Upon returning home,
I ate New Year’s dishes(//∇//)And then, I went with my mom and dad to the shrine they go to every year(*^^*)
I gave my thanks for the past year and prayed for this year
It was really crowded here too!(◎o◎)
The wind was reaaaaally, really cold, so my hands and feet were freezingヽ(;▽;)ノ
I bought a baked potato at one of the carts on the way back,
but it became cold instantly since it was so cold outside(^_^;)I also bought pork miso and was going to eat it before it got cold,
but I wasn’t able to move my hands because they were frozen solid, and I dropped one of my chopsticks(°ロ°)And then,
my mom said “Well, use these” and gave me the chopsticks she was using for her baked potato
However, once again I couldn’t move my hands, and I dropped it…(OロO)
There was nothing else I could do but laugh~(≧∇≦)
In the end, I ate the pork miso by mixing it with my remaining chopstick
Warming up with pork miso outside in the cold was the best
After returning home,
I balled up in front of the heater and fell asleep(´∀`; )I woke up at night, and ate crab-nabe with my family~♪( ´θ`)ノ
As expected, food tastes best eaten at home~
The herring roe I love and the maguro my mom and dad went to Tsukiji to buy were delicious
I was happy relaxing at home
And then, even though the new year has already started, I wrote my New Year’s cards〓
(*^^*)
It was a fitting New Year’s Day( ´ ▽ ` )ノ
Aaaalright
Our annual New Year’s Hello! Project concerts start today(o^^o)My heart is pounding(*^^*)
I’ll have fun while working hard so that everyone has a wonderful time
(^o^)/*
Well then, until tomorrow’s update~

Thanks, again for these translations — it’s wonderful to see these little glimpses into Maimi’s life.
Another minor nitpicky thing — 築地 — the fish market is Tsukiji (my cousin went there back when he was still in the Navy, and told me a story or 2 about his experience there — I guess it can be a bit of a tourist destination).
As always, it’s my pleasure.
And thanks for the heads-up! There are times where I take a shot in the dark with people/place names that aren’t familiar, so I appreciate you letting me know.
