Maimi introduces ℃-ute’s new single in her July 16th update “The Power/Kanashiki Heaven (Single Version)“. Full translation below.

Yesterday we appeared at S/mileage’s first concert at Nippon Budoukan

Everyone in S/mileage, once again, congratulations on your successful Budoukan performance。・゜・(ノД`)・゜・。

 

There were laughs and tears,
and the Budoukan performance was very S/mileage-esque

While listening to the final MC, I thought
“Each of the members have a different history,

and they had a lot of obstacles…”

They had to climb countless walls to finally arrived at Budoukan,

and e~veryone looked really happy and had sparkling smiles once there…

Their smiles were really dazzling

And then, I received a lot of motivation from them

 

Thankfully,
℃-ute will have a concert at Budoukan on ℃-ute Day, September 10th

While watching S/mileage I thought how amazing it is being able to move and give smiles to so many people

 

We read a letter congratulating S/mileage and performed our new single “The Power” at Budoukan yesterday,

and I was reminded of the ℃-ute Day performance at Budoukan last year the second I stood on stage…

Once again I thought that I will be grateful for being able to stand on stage at Budoukan,
and that I want to put on a performance that satisfies everyone who came

 

Everyone in S/mileage, thank you for the emotions, the smiles, and the motivation…

Hagiwara Mai-chan and I appeared live on “Myu~Komi + Plus”(^o^)/*

It was on late,
so thank you to everyone who listened and everyone who supported us

℃-ute’s 25th single “The Power/Kanashiki Heaven (Single Version)”, finally goes on sale today o(^▽^)o

“The Power” is the first of ℃-ute’s singles with an oriental atmosphere,
and when I first heard it, I thought “It’s a new genre for ℃-ute“

There’s not much of a break between the verse, bridge, and hook,
so it’s difficult to breathe when singing the song while dancing(o^^o)lol

There are hand movements that everyone can mimic during the dance, so I’ll be happy if everyone dances together with us during the concerts and events~

There are also chants of “Oi!” during the song, so please be sure to do those too

The lyrics were written with the feelings of a girl whose boyfriend has a dream that will take him out into the world and is saying “Don’t just pay attention to your work, pay attention to me more“,

but while saying that,
she can feel the power coming from her boyfriend and wonders if he really will fly off into the world

And then,

“Kanashiki Heaven (Single Version)”, the other song on the double A-side,
was the coupling track of ℃-ure’s single “Aitai Aitai Aitai na” up until now,

but now it has been rearranged and rerecorded and rereleased as a single

Earlier, when we were appearing at an event a variety of idols were performing at,

our manager at the time suggested we get a song that would leave an impact on even those who aren’t ℃-ute fans,

and this is the song that Tsunku♂-san made for us

As such,
Suzuki Airi-chan and Okai Chisato-chan’s parts have an intricately intertwined harmony and are difficult to sing,

and Nakajima Saki-chan, Hagiwara Mai-chan, and my dance is intense with minute details

Ever since it was released as a coupling song,
it’s become extremely popular

Everyone’s love for the song lead the way for it to become a single

I hope that even more people are able to listen to it now…

 

Later today at 6:30PM,
at CLUB CITTA Kawasaki,

we will have release commemoration events for the new single(o^^o)

There will be a mini-concert and handshake event, so those who have time, please be sure to come and hang out
