Maimi looks back on ℃-ute’s formation 9 years ago in her June 12th update “℃-ute9-years-old“. Full translation below.

Today, June 11th, is ℃-ute’s birthday(^-^)/

Nine years ago today,
at Abe Natsumi-san’s concert tour,

it was announced that those of us known as “Hello! Project Kids” up to that point would be called “℃-ute”

I remember it clearly even today

My heart was pounding, but just before going out on stage, everyone made a circle and I calmed down…

I have a picture of that time in my album…

Time flies~

I was still 13-years-old(　゜д゜)
It’s shocking

Back then I didn’t know whether or not ℃-ute would really be able to debut,

and we didn’t have any songs of our own…

I never imagined we’d be at the point we are now 9 years later

It’s because I was focused with all my might on what was right in front of me…

A variety of things have happened in 9 years

It’s obvious that a lot of things will change during a 9 year period,

but even still, ℃-ute is still around, and it’s thanks to the warm affection of everyone associated with us

I’m really glad we’ve been able to reach 9 years

Now, in our 10th year,
I want the 5 of us to combine our power and work even harder to show our gratitude to a lot of people

…I didn’t update in time, and now the date has changed…

Yesterday ℃-ute had the fanclub event “Volume 16! CutieLand 8 ~℃-ute’s formation 9-year anniversary special~”

Beforehand

we had a survey where we asked everyone which characters they wanted to see again
and which songs they wanted to hear performed,

and so the setlist was decided this time with everyone’s cooperation(^o^)

The event really was packed with content(((o(*゜▽゜*)o)))

There were countless songs we sang for the first time in awhile, songs we sang just for this event, the debut of our new song,

and I reprised my role of manager for the first time in 2 years during the Nakiko skit (o^^o)

I was nervous about a variety of things,
but I feel like since it’s the anniversary of our formation, it deserved some really special segments(^o^)/*

I hope everyone had fun too(^-^)/

Everyone who came in the rain…m(_ _)m
And then, everyone who came rushing over even though it was a weekday,

and everyone who supported us and celebrated even though they couldn’t participate,

thank you so very much

It was awesome spending the anniversary of our formation with everyone in team ℃-ute this year

After the performance, the staff backstage came out with surprise cakes,

and I was really, really, rea~lly happy
