Blog update: “Tokyo Olympics(*^o^) /\(^-^*)”

Maimi awakens to Olympic-sized news and catches a play in her September 8th update “Tokyo Olympics(*^o^) /\(^-^*)“. Full translation below.

Good afternoon
It’s Maimi

It’s been decided that the 2020 Olympics will be held in Tokyoヽ(≧▽≦)/

I’m so happy

Because, because, please try to imagine it

The world’s top athletes all massing in Tokyo

And then, we will be able to see their serious battle with our own eyes

It’s really, really amazing

Of course, I wasn’t born yet at the time of the previous Tokyo Olympics, and neither were my parents…

It’s a once in a lifetime event

I will have become 28-years-old by that time(゜o゜)/

WhoaΣ( ̄□ ̄)! It surprised me

A~h I want to go to the stadium and watch the matches in person

By the way, did everyone wake up when they made the announcement

Yaji was actually still in the middle of a dream

My dad came running into my room, and with an amazing excitement said

“Mai Sorry Tokyo It’s been decided

and I woke up immediately(゜o゜)/

Aroma, who was sleeping next to me, also became excited, and she walked here and there while wagging her tail…

It was a strange tension(°∇°;)lol

My dad then turned on the TV in my room,

and together we watched the exciting report after the announcement was made

I wanted to share the delight with everyone and update the blog with just

“Yes(*^o^)/\(^-^*)”

I’m really grateful to the people who made the splendid presentation

The Tokyo Olympics will always remain in the history of the world

I want the many people who will visit Japan to think
“Japan is a wonderful place

At any rate, I’m happy
Banza~i\(^^)/

Now then, I’ll control my excitement and talk about yesterday

Yesterday we had a filming for the DVD that will be sold at the ℃-ute and S/mileage live house tour “Naruchika”

Afterwards I had a recording,

and since it finished before dark,

I went to see the GekiHaro production
“Warera Joan of Arc ~Otome Seisen Kageki~”

GekiHaro is a series of plays, and ℃-ute appeared in the 2nd one, “Neru-ko wa ℃-ute”…

The 13th and current play features Berryz Koubou X S/mileage, and it will be the final GekiHaro production

GekiHaro was my first experience being in a play and where I learned the joy of acting,

so I’m really sad it’s ending

I have a lot of memories of it…

I was determined to see the final GekiHaro production…

I was 30 minutes late, but I went to watch after work finished yesterday

A~h…
I’m glad I went to see it

Actually,
when I was appearing in the Hata-gumi play “Ran”,

and I did research on Joan of Arc since it was my first time having a sword battle

Since then, I’ve really loved Joan of Arc,

and earlier, when ℃-ute went to France for our first overseas event, I saw a bronze statue of Joan of Arc and became really, really excited

The current GekiHaro play tells another side of the Joan of Arc story…

I was on the edge of my seat as I watched

There were scenes that tugged at my heart, and it made me think “As expected, plays are fun

It felt like it was my first time going to see a play by myself in awhile…

I was reminded how fun it is to watch plays

In addition, I always saw the members of Berryz Koubou and S/mileage practicing their lines, the sword fight, and the song in the dressing room at the Hello! Project concerts,

so when the performed the song I thought “Whoa… They’re singing this song…“, and I felt like I was going to cry remembering everyone working hard…

Because everyone was working so much that I began to worry about them

Everyone was focused on their scripts in the usually lively dressing room,

so I thought “Ah… I shouldn’t bother them now…”

All of them were standing on stage brimming with confidence

Because of their hard work, it was a wonderful play

I thought things like “I’ve never seen her like that before

and “Whoa Something’s changed about her“…

Seeing them like that,

I can see the results of their effort behind the scenes,
and it gives me power to do my best as well

I think that even if you repeatedly do trivial things, you will change to the point where people can tell by looking at you…

Seeing them work hard made me think “I want to work harder and harder too(・∀・´)” and gave me power

Thanks

Take care of your health and do your best until the closing day and the end of GekiHaro, okay

No~w then,
our dream performances at Nippon Budoukan finally arrive tomorrow and the day after

When I read the many comments of support, I thought

“℃-ute is really supported by a lot of warm feelings…

and “We really have to put on a great Budoukan concert
We have to return this support“,

and I started feeling hot

Thank you very much

A~lright(・∀・´)
I’ll use this fire and continue to do my best rehearsing at home

I’ve felt happy from this morning, and it will continue for the rest of the day, tomorrow, and the day after

Have a wonderful day

  1. What?! Maimi’s parents weren’t even born the last time the Olympics were held in Tokyo?! But that was in 1964! And considering that Maimi has 2 older brothers, her parents must have given birth to her brothers and her at a very young age! :O I’m feeling kinda surprised now lol
