The Hello! Project website has updated with the news of Maimi’s next stage play, titled “Taklimakan”. The play will reunite Maimi with “Ran” writer and director Hata Takehiko and the theater troupe “Hata-gumi”. The description of the play on the website reads:

-On a stormy night devoid of moonlight, we set off by boat with “that country” as our goal-

Hata Takehiko writes of the laughter, tears, and action of youths struggling every day with the poverty and cruelty of “this country”, while dreaming of crossing the ocean to a utopia known as “that country”, in what is his stage masterpiece!

The play will run from May 31st to June 11th, with performances in Higashi-Ikebukuro and Osaka.
