Blog update: “Coo coo coo( ´□`)”

Here’s the translation for Maimi’s 11/20 blog update, titled “Coo coo coo( ´□`)“:

Good morning
It’s Maimi

I had a photoshoot with Mano-chan yesterday for the December 22nd issue of “UTB”

The two of us went to Asakusa~ヽ(≧▽≦)/

It was my first time going to the amusement park “Hanayashiki”

It was cold, so the two of us covered ourselves with “Hokkairo” heating pads

Hokkairo……
Thanks for keeping Mano-chan and Yaji warm

We ate crepes
We rode the panda cars
We tried the shooting gallery

We talked a lot too, so it was real fun

During the interview, I talked about Mano-chan’s graduation next year

Mano-chan got teary-eyed…(;-;)

I’m happy that I could make memories like these with her before she graduates…

Even after you graduate, let’s go out to eat and hang out together a lot…

Ah Speaking of which, I saw something funny at Hanayashiki( ´艸`)

A pigeon was flying with a “kaki no tane” snack in his mouth,

and two other pigeons were energetically chasing him like
“Give me~ Give me~“(lol)

The pigeon in front accidentally dropped the kaki no tane

Σ(゜□゜;)

and without a moment’s delay, a bird behind him snatched it up(*´д`*)

At first I thought
“You shouldn’t hog it like that~” while watching,

but the instant it was snatched away, my heart went out to that bird(;´v`)

A variety of things like that happen in a pigeon’s life too, don’t they~

“Live strongly

Changing the subject, there’s a lot of walnut rice cakes and red rice at my home right now

My grandmother sent them to us(〃▽〃)

I talked to my grandmother on the phone earlier,

and she worried “You haven’t caught a cold, have you“, and cheered me on in my job…

I was really grateful~(*´д`*)

The walnut rice cakes and red rice were really, really delicious~ Thanks Grannyヽ(´ー`)ノ

Now then,

tomorrow “②℃-ute Shinsei Naru Best Album” is finally released

And then, it’s the opening day of the play “Sugar Spot”

Everyone, please be absolutely sure to check both out

Today’s pictures

Let’s have a wonderful day today

  1. There’s a part of this entry that just didn’t translate well, but I wanted to point it out. At the end of her bird story, Maimi wrote:
    “鳩の人生にも……ん(・o・)?…鳩生?にもいろいろあるんだろうなー”

I ended up translating it as:
“A variety of things like that happen in a pigeon’s life too, don’t they~”

    However…

The word “jinsei” (人生) she used means “life”, but more specifically “human life”, with the first kanji, “人”, being the kanji for person. After using “jinsei”, she paused and jokingly wondered if she should’ve wrote “hatosei” (鳩生), which replaces the “人” in “jinsei” with the kanji for “pigeon” (鳩) (and isn’t a real word), instead. Since we just use “life” in English without differentiating between species, there was no way I could think of to translate it effectively.
