Blog update: “Today♥”

Here’s the translation for Maimi’s 6/14 blog update, titled “Today“:

Good evening
It’s Maimi

This is a late update

I apologize to those who were waiting for the update

Today, when I was walking outside and casually looked up at the night sky,

the moon was reaaally beautiful

The temperature at night this season is pleasant, so together with Nacky

we talked about “Let’s do fireworks, ok

Moreover, the fish in the bentou I ate this evening was really really delicious

Though I love meat,
recently I’ve chosen bentou with fish in them a lot

I wonder if my sense of taste has changed

Which reminds me, changing the subject to something completely different,

earlier, I took a spectacular photo of Mai-chan’s profile

Today I’ve attached that cute Mai-chan

Have a wonderful day tomorrow too

…Good night

℃-ute news for 6/13: Kawaii Girl Japan

English-subtitled video of ℃-ute’s comments on “Momoiro Sparkling” at Kawaii Girl Japan
The girls explain the new single, and share what they think of when they think of “summer”.

Blog update: “Shabu-shabu party♥”

Here’s the translation for Maimi’s 6/13 blog update, titled “Shabu-shabu party“:

Good morning
It’s Maimi

Yesterday ℃-ute had a photoshoot

Just as we finished
our manager immediately
came out with a cake,

and the staff around us
“Bang Bang
set off crackers, and celebrated ℃-ute’s 6th birthday

Surprised by the sound of the crackers, Airi fell down…

The surprise was a great joy that none of us expected

Here’s a picture from that
(1)

They gave all of us flowers

Since the photoshoot itself ended at night, everyone went out to eat shabu-shabu

(2)

Nacky loves enoki, and ordered and ate nothing but enoki

and “Who wants to eat rice cakes~ Who wants to eat meat and cheese roll~ Airi will make it for you” Airi said, while giving us shabu-shabu

and the way Chisato drank black oolong tea was like a handsome man, and made everyone burst out laughing

and during that laughter Mai-chan said something, but no one noticed, and “Yeah No one heard me, huh” she pouted…

Anyhow, we ate a lot and talked a lot, and the time went by in the blink of an eye

I’m really happy that a lot of people celebrated ℃-ute’s birth

Various people have given us support…

℃-ute, we gotta work harder and harder

Thank you very much to everyone on the staff, too

Well, today I’ll work hard with yesterday’s shabu-shabu power

Off I go

Blog update: “Things I love♥”

Here’s the translation for Maimi’s 6/12 blog update, titled “Things I love“:

Good morning
It’s Maimi

Thank you for all the comments

When I read them,
happiness and deep emotions,
once again I felt that the ℃-ute who everyone gives their love to are blessed

Though it takes time, I will read all the comments

Of course, I think there are people who are always supporting us, even if they don’t comment

I’m grateful to everyone everyone who loves ℃-ute

Thank you so very much

Now, though the weather is not great, the day is starting

Recently, I love yukari rice

I say recently, but I have for quite some time,

but in the past I didn’t like shiso, so I never gave into thoughts of “Let’s eat yukari rice

Now the yukari rice with crisp plum topping is always at my house

I’ll eat countless bowls of rice if that is there

After that, I also love crushed ice

I’ve always loved it since I was little,

and I have a lot of the grapefruit-flavored ice

Furthermore, it’s low calories and only 12kg calories if you eat the entire thing

When I get out of the bath and think
“It’s hoooooooot
I eat 5 or 6 pieces,

and that moment is the greatest happiness

Summer, it makes you want to eat cool stuff, huh

Ah… I want to eat chilled Chinese noodles

Well then, today all of the members of ℃-ute will gather

Today I’ll tanobaru all day

Everyone have a wonderful day too…

P.S.
The picture is the day-before-yesterday’s
2-shot with Airi

Blog update: “HappyBirthday ℃-ute”

Here’s the translation for Maimi’s 6/11 blog update, titled “HappyBirthday ℃-ute“:

Good evening
It’s Maimi

Yesterday
on YouTube

The news was “The performance at 15:00 on 6/18 from Yokosuka Geijutsu Theater will be broadcast live on the ℃-ute Channel”

Together with Airi, we were given the chance to do a live broadcast,
and to those who watched, thank you

Also, the broadcast time was later than planned due to trouble with the equipment, and I apologize.

Well then, the day has changed

(Unable to post it at midnight, I’ve posted it at this time m(__)m)

Today is ℃-ute’s 6th birthday

Six years have already passed Fast

There were many things in these 6 years.

Disappointing things,
fun things,
painful things,
happy things…

Those things we were able to do every day accumulated and made ℃-ute what it is now.

The first time we stood on stage as ℃-ute, we were nervous and everyone held hands tightly until right before.

Even now after 6 years have passed, I’m really relieved that I have the other members by my side when I’m nervous.

Six years of having activities together with the members, when having difference of opinions, there have also been times we clashed. However, those times we talked things over a whole lot.

I think that for this reason, the members of ℃-ute know each other well.

From now on too, I want to grow together with these members.

And then, I’m very grateful to the fans who have wrapped ℃-ute in warmth.

Having been supported by all of the fans so much…

Those who have supported us since a long time ago,
those who became ℃-ute fans recently,

without everyone, we wouldn’t be the ℃-ute we are now.

Thank you so very very much.

That support from cheering…

we want to repay that by delivering cheer and power to everyone!!

From here on, together…

And then, and then,

including those people who’d say, “Though I don’t know ℃-ute well, I read this blog“,

those who don’t yet know ℃-ute, I want to become a group that grabs ahold of as many of their hearts as possible!

From today we rush into our 7th year since formation, we will look up more and advance every day!!

The other members
all of the fans
the staff
our families…
we’re grateful to everyone who has affected ℃-ute

℃-ute, happy 6th birthday

6-year-old ℃-ute, I hope that there’s a lot of happiness…

Maimi & Airi’s “Suzukyuu” live broadcast added to YouTube

For those who were unable to catch Maimi and Airi’s live broadcast earlier today on YouTube, or for those who simply wanted to enjoy it again, a recording of the entire broadcast has been uploaded to the official ℃-ute YouTube channel. Before revealing the announcement that the next ℃-ute concert will also be aired live on YouTube (6/18 at 3:00PM JST), the girls challenged the viewers to figure out which girl drew what, tried their hand at making up puns on the spot, and then reminisced about how they spent the past anniversaries of ℃-ute’s formation.

Thankfully, a recording of Maimi’s previously unannounced solo live broadcast was also added to the channel, and as a bonus, can be enjoyed in beautiful 1080P HD. Maimi’s solo video can be found here. In the video, Maimi talks about her solo activites outside of ℃-ute this year, including “Black Angels” and “Ran -2011 New version!!”, and spends most of the time talking about what she learned while participating in “Ran”.

Maimi Sightings for 6/10

UpFront Works staff member Shuhei Miyachi tweeted a very large picture of the pairing of Maimi and Airi following their live broadcast on YouTube earlier today, dubbed “Suzukyuu”.

And then, in her update titled “Yajisuzu” on the official blog, Maimi’s co-anchor Suzuki Airi briefly mentioned their earlier broadcast, and shared a picture of the duo.

Blog update: “Summer festival”

Here’s the translation for Maimi’s 6/10 blog update, titled “Summer festival“:

Hello
It’s Maimi

As I wrote in yesterday’s blog

Summer is almost here

Speaking of summer,
summer festivals

When I was younger, there was a park close to the house where I lived,

and every year there was a festival there

At the highest point in the middle,
there were people playing the taiko drums

and around there the people from the neighborhood danced around in circles

There were also a lot of booths,
and it was a festival where a lot of people gathered

Since it was only 30 seconds from my house,

my brothers and I would hold onto our allowance tightly

and go back and forth between our house and the park

At the festival,
every year without fail I stopped at

goldfish scooping and
figure cutting and
cotton candy

In goldfish scooping, my net would immediately become torn, and the old man would often give me a bonus turn

I’d put the goldfish I was given in a fish tank in my house~

And then, figure cutting
though I tried it every year, I have never once been successful

Frustrated I’d do it countless times, and my allowance was gone in the blink of an eye…

I’d go to where my mom was
and beg her “Mother… plea~se

“That’s enough You’ve already used too much” she’d say, and when I was downhearted

my brother said, “Alright, use this” and would split his own allowance with me

When I think about it now, how selfish I was

And then, I’d always eat cotton candy

When I was eating cotton candy, I bumped into a friend who changed schools …I remember

I wonder what kind of summer it’ll become this year

Without losing to the heat, let’s have a fun summer

And then today
from 20:00
at YouTube’s
“℃-ute Channel”
I will be on a live broadcast

There will be an announcement during the program, so definitely check it out please

Well well, let’s tanobaru today

P.S.
With Berryz Koubou’s Shimizu Saki-chan

Continuing from yesterday,

Maimi’s comments on “Sengoku Jieitai”

Mainichi has published an article on the upcoming Gekiharo play “Sengoku Jieitai” (Sengoku Self Defense Force), which was formerly known as “Jikuu no Tobira”. In the play, the girls will take the role of female self-defence force members who get sent back in time to the Sengoku period of Japan. Here’s Maimi’s comment on the play from the article, translated:

I feel gratitude and nervousness that I’ve been given the chance to perform the wonderful work “Sengoku Jieitai” on stage. Since it’s the first time wearing camouflaged clothes with everyone, and to have our face and hands made dirty with make-up, please look forward to it.

The play will run from 9/16 to 10/2, and the members of ℃-ute and Berryz Koubou will be split into two groups for the performances, with Maimi appearing in the “Wind and Clouds Team” alongside Berryz Koubou’s Sudou Maasa, Natsuyaki Miyabi, Kumai Yurina, Sugaya Risako, and fellow ℃-ute member Nakajima Saki.

Maimi and Airi’s live YouTube broadcast

Earlier this week the official ℃-ute YouTube channel posted a video of Airi announcing that there’d be an annoucement made later this week on the 10th. (The video can be seen here.) The person involved with most of Hello! Project and UpFront’s online activities, Shuhei Miyachi, revealed via Twitter that the announcement is that ℃-ute will attempt a live broadcast via YouTube on 6/10 at 8:00PM JST, with Maimi and Airi being the girls who will appear.

Update (6/9/2011 6:20PM): I’ve “stickied” this post so that it’ll remain at the top of MaimiLog, so that as many people know about this as possible. If there are any updates on the broadcast, then I will add them to this post.

Update (6/10/2011 6:15AM): Maimi has mentioned the broadcast in her latest update here (full translation coming later). She reiterates that it will be at at 8:00PM JST on the ℃-ute YouTube channel, and says that during the program they will make an announcement.

Update (6/10/2011 6:30AM): The page for the broadcast has been added here. Right now it’s just a countdown clock ticking down to air time.

Update (6/10/2011 6:50AM): I’ve tried embedding the video at the top of this post. Right now clicking play gives an error message, but that might change when the actual broadcast starts.

Update (6/10/2011 7:04AM): Some weird stuff happening. The countdown timer reached 0, but the video and ℃-ute YouTube channel seem to no longer be available. ℃-ute staff tweeted here to wait a little longer.

Update (6/10/2011 7:27AM): ℃-ute staff has tweeted that the ℃-ute Youtube channel is back up, and a new link for the live broadcast is available. You can watch it here or on the embedded video at the top of the post.

Update (6/10/2011 7:32AM): It’s started!!!

Update (6/10/2011 7:58AM): And now it’s over. Maimi (looking great with long hair) and Airi first challenged viewers to guess which drawing each of them did, played a game where they tried to make up puns with words they were given, talked about ℃-ute’s anniversaries of the past (it’s the eve of the 6th anniversary of ℃-ute’s formation), and then finally announced that the 6/18 ℃-ute concert from Yokosuka will also be broadcast live on YouTube.

Update (6/10/2011 2:15PM): It turns out about 30 minutes after the broadcast ended, there was a solo Maimi broadcast. I apologize for not updating about it, as I myself missed it. Hopefully someone recorded it and will upload it, at which point I’ll try to share what she said here.

Blog update: “Sociable!?”

Here’s the translation for Maimi’s 6/8 blog update, titled “Sociable“:

Good morning
It’s Maimi

Thank you for the many comments

Reading them warmed by heart up

It’s raining today…
Though yesterday was hot

My pet dogs,
they slept with their bellies on the floor

Oh yeah
Yesterday, while drawing

“Alright I’ve finished the rough draft

I thought

HuhΣ( ̄◇ ̄;)

………I messed up…

(1)…You notice it right

Pay attention to the paper’s logo…

Oops
I mistook the top and bottom( ̄▽ ̄;)

Though I’m glad I noticed before I colored it in, I was fairly shocked (lol)

Well Since I like drawing it’s alright

When I was young, I’d often go with my mom to watch my brother’s little league games,

and during them I’d get bored and draw pictures in the sand

and to the other kids’ moms
“Hey hey, look look How’s this

I’d say and show them the drawing

“Whoa Amazing You’re talented” they’d say and I’d always get carried away

“I can also draw a fox
“I can also draw an elephant

I’d say

It was a big problem for the mothers that accompanied me

…I mean, in spite of my shyness, back then I’d often sit on the laps of various mothers…

While typing out the blog I remembered that

Now, I will start the day

Today, on USTREAMU (USTREAM Musume)

the “Hello! Project Summit Meeting (G5)!”

will be broadcast starting at 20:00

Unfortunately, I won’t be able to appear,

but Okai Chisato-chan from ℃-ute will be participating in my place

Definitely check it out please

Well then, today I will tanobaru all day with fighting spirit

Blog update: “Something too happy”

Here’s the translation for Maimi’s 6/7 blog update, titled “Something too happy“:

Hello
It’s Maimi

The play performed last month

“Ran -2011 New version!!-”

for the first time in years my brother came and watched me on stage

Initially,
it began in the “Ran” dressing room with a conversation about co-stars Kudou Risa-san and Sugimoto Yumi-san’s brothers

and while their brothers were coming to watch,

mine had no plans to come

Before, my family would come and watch my concerts,
and would come to the Hello! Project sports festivals,

but my brother became a high school student, was busy with club activities, and after graduation started a job,

so eventually I stopped inviting him

However, when I talked about it with my mom this time, she invited my brother,

and he was just able to come and see the closing performance

My brother coming is a considerably rare thing, so I was really happy

(Ah I wonder if it’s because there was a typhoon on closing day)

In the car on the way home,
I fell asleep like always

and the next day, while heading towards work on the train, a mail from my brother came

Since I usually don’t get e-mails from him, I was surprised

In addition, it’s contents were really really moving…

Though I was in the train, my tears overflowed while I was reading it

“Ahh~(T-T) I can’t read the characters…(´Д`)”

it became
Furthermore, I read it twice…

Thankfully there weren’t many people around me, but the people seated in front of me

“I wonder if something bad happened to that girl” I probably made them think~ (lol)

…even now I’ll occasionally re-read it, and it always gives me a lot of power

Though we fought a lot when we were little, he’s always been a kind big brother

For him to support me like this…

I gotta work harder and harder I thought

Not just my brother,
there are a lot of people who support me and it’s a really happy thing

So that I don’t waste all of that support,

I, Yajima Maimi, want to tackle the things in front of me with all of my power

Those who read my blog by chance
and those who always read it too

Please continue to warmly watch over me

P.S.
The picture is a two-shot with Kudou-san from the final performance

Blog update: “It’s Mano-chan!!”

Here’s the translation of Maimi’s 6/6 blog update, titled “It’s Mano-chan“:

Good evening
It’s Maimi

The ℃-ute tour performances in Osaka ended yesterday

Everyone who came, everyone who cheered for us
thank you

On the bullet train back yesterday
I sat next to Mai,

and for dinner
we ate octopus dumplings

The octopus dumplings Osaka is known for

They were really delicious

Furthermore, there was something that made us both excited…

Looking at the tea that was given to us with the octopus dumplings

“Ah

Mai said…

“What What What is it” I asked

The tea’s expiration date was
February 7th

Hehe…
Our birthday

To come across this expiration date while the two of us were together was a miracle…

I was happier than if I saw it alone

…though it’s really a trivial thing…

Returning to earlier talk, the performances of the ℃-ute tour at

Yokosuka
Hachioji
Chiba

are the only performances remaining

It’s fast

Yesterday it became a hot live too,

and I want to take great care to burst open for each and every one of the remaining performances

And then, this morning
when I casually looked upwards in the train…

on the hanging advertisement was Mano Erina-chan

Instinctively I wanted to take a picture,

but taking a picture on the train would seem suspicious~ I thought, and stopped

But I got a little excited before work

According to rumors, in the metro area trains, if you’re lucky

you can find ℃-ute member Airi’s hanging advertisement,

so when you’re riding on the metro area train, definitely search overhead

Well then, until tomorrow’s update~

Photocard: “When I was little…”

When I was little…

I would always imitate my older brothers!!
I followed them everywhere, and they often looked after me…

Ah!! Also, I was a crybaby (lol)
